Product Description A group of divers find themselves in deep trouble with a drug lord after they come upon the illicit cargo of a sunken airplane. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 05/22/2007 Starring: Paul Walker Scott Caan Run time: 110 minutes Rating: Pg13 Director: John Stockwell
Amazon.com Stunning tropical scenery and gorgeous athletic movie stars may not make a movie great, but they sure don't hurt. Jared (Paul Walker, The Fast and the Furious) dreams of finding sunken treasure and making millions, but his girlfriend Sam (Jessica Alba, Fantastic Four, Sin City) is content with their poor but idyllic life in the Bahamas. Still, when they find artifacts from a 19th century pirate ship, she gets caught up in the excitement--until they also find a crashed plane full of smuggled cocaine. Naturally, someone's going to want that cocaine back... From there, Into the Blue is a surprisingly well-plotted action movie, unpredictable in its specifics if familiar in its broader outlines. Even more pleasant, the action itself stays plausible and genuinely engaging throughout. Jared seems able to hold his breath for a preternaturally long time, but aside from that the movie is meticulous about the dangers and threats the characters face and is all the stronger for it. Add to this its unabashed ogling of Alba and Walker (both of whom are astonishing physical specimens) and you have a solid romp. Also featuring Scott Caan (Ocean's Eleven), Tyson Beckford (Biker Boyz), and Josh Brolin (Flirting With Disaster) as a slimy rival treasure hunter. --Bret Fetzer

just another guy giving it a high review.... October 11, 2008 B. Wigginton (ri, usa) yes jessica alba is half naked in this movie but that is not the only reason why its a good movie. there is suspense and action but never to the point of a "diehard" movie. other than the fact that paul walker can hold his breathe for ten minutes the movie is not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
Into The Blue September 18, 2008 John Hollingsworth This Film is a definite winner, with an outstanding beginning, middle and end. The film is action packed and well acted, as well as produced.
A satisfying couple of hours July 20, 2008 Irikefe Okonedo (London, England) Underwater adventure thriller starring Jessica Alba and Paul Walker as divers who discover a crashed plane filled with a lot of cocaine and also a sunken ship filled with treasure whilst diving in the Bahamas. The treasure on the sunken ship is worth millions but Alba, Walker and their lawyer friend Scott Caan cannot afford the $30,000 dollars needed to hire the salvage gear needed to retrieve the treasure from the sunken ship. Temptation comes their way when they realise that the cocaine on the crashed plane will be more than enough to pay for the salvage gear they need but this an extremely risky idea as drug trafficking in the Bahamas carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison. But the decision as to whether to try to sell the cocaine or not is taken out of their hands when the drug dealers whom the plane belonged to get wind of the fact that their plane and its drugs cargo has been discovered and threaten to kill Walker, Alba and Caan if they do not retrieve the cocaine from the crashed plane for them. I found this to be a good action film, set in the beautiful locale of the Bahamas with especially notable underwater scenes. Jessica Alba and Paul Walker make decent and good looking protagonists, Scott Caan provides useful support as their materialistic lawyer friend and the villains are very nasty pieces of work .The last 15 minutes or so - set underwater and aboard a boat - make a wonderful climax and will have you on the edge of your seat. A satisfying couple of hours that takes full advantage of the paradise locale of the Bahamas in which it is set.
Great Fun to watch June 4, 2008 D. Sousa (Hill AFB, UT) This movie was fun and exciting. My kids and I enjoyed it and now want to become treasure hunters. HAHA
More than just eye candy May 28, 2008 Scorpio69 (Hawaii, America's Paradise) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I expected that the visuals would be great -- and they're terrific on Blu-Ray, especially the underwater sequences (and, of course, the babes in their bikinis) -- but the story was actually interesting and exciting. Scott Caan was particularly good in his role.
