We bought the set for a trip to Hawaii. The mask is fine, but the review is about the snorkel. The Pivot Dry is worth any extra money. The pivoting head really works! While snorkeling in the rough water of Hawaii, we watched person after person lift their heads to blow the water out. Ultimately, they all gave up and went for shore. These snorkels work exactly as advertised - no water when submerged or splashed.
I will say it's a little strange when you try to inhale and the pivot is closed, but you get the idea quickly (breathing water would have been the other option).
The snorkeling was so much more enjoyable - much more time with my face in the water enjoying the sights.

Mask is clear and doesn't fog up if you don't breath through your nose. I use mask drops before each dive as well. The mask fit my face, my wife's face, and another friend's face without leaking.
The snorkel is pretty cool. I have always just used the old fashioned kind in the past, but I was impressed at how dry it stayed. The top seals well when diving. I would occasionally get a little bit down to the bottom, but it would collect below the breathing hole, so I never got any unexpected mouthfuls. I generally clear when surfacing anyway with a quick blast of air, and it was easy to clear through the bottom valve. My only gripe with it is that occasionally if you just pop your head up to see where you are, the top can close on you, but if you just spit out the mouth piece, or put your face back down, you can continue breathing without trouble. That only happened once or twice, and did not really detract from the experience.
Overall, a great product for the price.

This is my first ever snorkel set. I bought it for an upcoming vacation. So far I've only tried it out in my pool for a couple hrs while trying to scrub out an algae problem. Never having used one before, it felt very strange breathing. Getting water in my mask and in my nose gave me a bit of a feeling of panic while trying to breath - shaved the mustache, and got a proper seal - problem solved. Was a little skeptical about the "dry" part, but dove down to the bottom of the pool several times, popped up, and no water in the snorkel. I don't have anything to compare this to, but for a 1st time novice, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great Snorkel! The fit was great, and the ultra dry system actually works! Great buy for the price.
I would definitely recommend this product to any one!

really good kit. one of the better snorkles out there since it shuts off the top once you submerge below for better views. upon arriving at the surface...one big blast of air clears the channel for air to be your next breath in. do not compromise on a cheaper snorkle because you will regret it. Mask fits good.
