A good dive watch October 7, 2008 Just Some Guy (Tampa, FL USA) This watch is definitely is more utilitarian than dressy. The band is accommodating to any size wrist from very thin to very large wrists. I have taken the watch on a couple 30 foot dives and it hasn't leaked and is easy to read underwater. It is a bit bulky for everyday wear but you may get used to it over time. The rotating bezel operates freely but the crown was a bit difficult to unlock the first time to set to set the watch. The packaging is nice and would make a great gift for an adventuring scuba diver.
Tomorrow's Watch Today September 8, 2008 Confederate (Bethesda, MD) I have had my titanium Eco-Watch since the late 1990s, and it's still going strong. Not only that, it's the most accurate watch I've ever owned. No battery replacement, amazingly accurate, attractive, waterproof--what more do you want out of a watch?
A Diver's Watch without the hassles! August 9, 2008 Kurt Normandin (Montreal, QC Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just bought this watch to replace my Seiko Diver's (quartz movement model- quite frankly the only way to go...don't even think about perpetual or automatics) and I can tell you that I'm quite pleased with my new purchase. It will have some pretty big shoes to fill since the Seiko has lasted me 24 years (and still looks and works great!). If you own or have owned a Diver's watch you'll know the pains of having to deal with the jewellers - either it's a battery issue (they don't install the proper battery or if they do it lasts a year because it's shelf life expired the moment they installed it), a ridiculous service charge ($45 to $100 and often weeks before you can get it back) or they simply don't want to touch it because it's a "Diver's". This watch will solve all these problems. It looks as rich as the Seiko but not quite as large or as heavy. The rubber band is made in China and I know that I'll have to one day replace it (just like I had to with my Seiko) but this aside the watch itself does look of equal quality. The date works just like any other analog watch and its size is just right for this model (remember we're not diving for days at a time). Also, a lot of people forget that the date changes at twelve AM and fail to distinguish am/pm when setting the time, and, like any other analog date watch, it will cycle through 31 days (so for months that don't have 31 days, yes you will have to manually reset the date). Overall, for the value, this is a great watch to buy!
Excellent Choice June 11, 2008 Tamer El-Masri (Calgary, AB CA) I was looking for a sporty looking watch that I can use every day and that I don't need to take off every time I swim, shower, wash the car, etc... This watch is modest looking, meaning it doesn't have any bells and whistles but stands out by its simplicity. I personally find the eco-drive system sophisticated and I am excited about not having to change any batteries or getting it pressure tested every time I do that. If you are thinking of buying this watch for everyday use, make sure it suits your personality. I think a nice watch on your wrist says a lot about your personality. So be careful how you project your self image! The watch is also characterized by its weight - it is not heavy nor does it feel fake - so it rests well on your wrist. The strap is made of rubber and is comfortable around the wrist. You are going to have to get used to the screw lock mechanism - it is a bit tricky in the beginning, but easy to figure out. Just make sure you play around with it a little bit before your first dive. I am sure you are going to love this watch if you decide to get it.
Great Watch March 17, 2008 BigBillin (On the water) Keeps accurate time, bright hands, not too large, comfortable to wear, durable, solid and well-made. The entire case is sealed thus no way to allow water in as long as you keep the crown screwed tight. Would recommend to anyone!
